| Workshop Standardisation |
|
The Xm Training centre interior facilities have been going through alot of changes recently. The reception area was modernised with the workmanship of apprentices and outside resource towards the end of 2009 and the main training workshop was earmarked to become a focal point for setting a measurable standard for the layout and more efficient working within an industrial invironment.
The apprentices along with the training staff were split into two teams and were given the task to standardise an area of the workshop and one of the classrooms, once these areas were complete then the set standard would be taken into the other areas of the workshop.
Below shows some pictures of the work that was carried out over a period of a month between core training from painting, electrical work, lighting, bench fitting and installation. All the skills that the apprentices have been gaining over their training period were used to good effect and implemented in a safe and effective manner. Once the areas were complete then an event was held to show these areas to the managing director of the company and each the last two photos show the two teams in their area after completion.
The apprentices put in a vast amount of effort to complete these areas in the alloted time and this was very much appreciated by the Xm Training staff. This workshop standardisation will be an ongoing process which will take several months to complete and allows each apprentice to gain extra skills to realise that a workshop can work more efficiently if everything that is used is put back in its rightful place available for all workers to use.
Thanks again. |
